Renuka Chowdhury/Sonia Gandhi backed Capt Poonam charged on 20 counts

Feminazi Politics again backfired on congress party especially Renuka Chowdhury who unconditionally backed Poonam earlier causing disgrace to the armed forces, not withstanding Renuka's own father occupied a top post. Such behaviour from Renuka should be exposed as it is nothing but cheap publicity politics

CHANDIGARH: The wheel seems to have come full circle for Capt Poonam Kaur, who had earlier accused three of her senior male officers, including her commanding officer Col R K Sharma, of physical and mental harassment, but was on Tuesday slapped with 20 charges instead. The move came after the commanding officer of 5 Armoured Regiment at Patiala completed proceedings against her and ordered the summary of evidence recording.

Alleging foul play as a copy of the report has not yet been provided to Poonam even though authorities are all set to initiate court martial proceedings against her, Poonam's defence counsel Col S K Aggarwal (retd) said he is now planning to approach chief of Army Staff Gen Deepak Kapoor on grounds that no action has been initiated against the accused officers.

"Surprisingly, after slapping Capt Poonam Kaur with 20 charges, the Army authorities have not supplied her with the copy of charges. She has applied to the Commanding Officer of 5 Armoured Regiment...so that she can prepare her case," he said.

"On September 1, Capt Poonam Kaur was attached with 5 Armoured Regiment at Patiala after the Army Commander, Western Command, issued an order for action against her," he said.

She was earlier posted with ASC unit at Kalka and had levelled her allegations on July 15.

Fearing that the charges against three officers of ASC at Kalka, including the ones against the commanding officer, Lt Col Ajay Chawla and Maj Suraj Bhan, would be hushed up, Aggarwal had written to the Union defence minister on August 27 and submitted that the court of inquiry had not investigated the lady officer's allegations. There has been no response to the letter, he said.
